The Megathlins

March 29, 2009

This shoot was a long time comin’ but it was totally worth the wait.

Shelly and I have been friends since college and we’ve been talking about doing a session for a while, well today was finally the day. She and her hubby Dave have two adorable kiddos, Emma & Jacob, that I have been excited to photograph for what feels like ever!

We were a little nervous about where we would shoot considering the 85% chance of rain- so we decided on a place that held some nostalgic value for Dave (and also a bridge to shoot under if the rain came down).

I love finding new backdrops and this place was full of them. I had such a great time just romping around and I even managed to snap a few fun shots…

So meet the Megathlins.

Belly: Jeff & Claudia

March 28, 2009

Don’t you just love it when things turn out just the way you want them to! I do.

Today was one of those occasions.  I woke up not feeling my best and slightly concerned about how windy it was for my morning belly shoot at the beach. So I said a little prayer that things would go well and headed down to meet Jeff & Claudia.

This is where it gets good…they arrived right on time and were totally flexible about relocating the shoot to Bethesda by the Sea. So we headed over there  and the next thing I knew we’d spent two hours together and I had over 600 shots logged on my camera!

This couple seriously blew me away with their incredibly laidback personalities and willingness to try anything! On top of that, Claudia has this captivating kind of beauty that makes it impossible to stop snapping. SO yeah, I got a little carried away.

All that to say that this post is a little longer than usual but hope you enjoy.

First Care:Walk for Life

March 22, 2009

One of the causes I am most passionate about is preserving innocent life. To me, every life is precious. So needless to say, I am in support of any organization that seeks to further that cause.

First Care is one of those organizations. Their mission statement goes something like this:

To uphold the sanctity of human life by providing practical assistance, education and loving encouragement to women, men and youth concerning abstinence, pregnancy and post-abortion issues.

They host an annual fund raising walk and this year I had the privilege to photograph the event. Here are a few of my fave shots from the morning.

The Fasels

March 16, 2009

I love meeting new people. Especially when they are like the Fasels. Jill and her husband Jeremy are super cool and their two kiddos Ryan & Jayden are just pure adorable.

It is always awesome when clients refer you to their friends! Jill is a friend of Ben & Sarah and we had a great time yesterday at Coral Cove. The sun was a bit bright and the water a bit chilly but nonetheless, it was a lot of fun!

Here are a few of my faves with some beachy tones~

This is Ryan and he LOVED the beach!

Jayden was a total star in her sweet shades!

Ryan did not even mind little wet in the chilly water- total boy!

Can’t resist a feet photo op with daddy!

BekahHood

March 15, 2009

Last Sunday afternoon I had the joy of going on a photo safari with two awesome girlfriends- Kelley Boykin and Rebekah Hood. It was a much needed just-for-fun shoot and we had a great time. I’ve posted a few pics on facebook but since I drank way too much of Kelley’s yummy tea tonight and I am super-wired and thought I’d do a little post from the safari. It’s also a great chance to do a post in honor of someone that I owe a huge thanks to.

It’s Bekah. She has become an incredible friend and mentor and I will never be able to thank for her for how her talent, humility and heart have inspired me. Oh-did I mention talent? This girl rocks photography. She has shared so much of her gift with me and I thank God for bringing her into my life at the perfect time.

I could seriously go on for two more miles about how many of my rediculous questions she has answered or how she’s helped me unlock much of my own ability. But I won’t cause that could get weird, but I will show you some pics we took last weekend…

Thanks Bekah and PS: you are SoFly!

{Drew & Shannon}

March 10, 2009

We love this couple.

They tied the knot right after we did and today is their two-year anniversary! To celebrate we did a special shoot at the very spot where Drew proposed.  Which was perfect because it just so happened to be one of my top fave spots to shoot.

I have a million things I could say about them in this post but if you know the Middletons, you know that what stands out about them most is how much fun they have together. They are always laughing or smiling about something.  It’s beautiful, THEY are beautiful! We really do love this couple…

Brand-new:Elijah David Fleming

March 5, 2009

It’s funny how fast things happen in life. It seems like just yesterday that all of my friends were getting married. Now they’re all havin babies. Cute ones too. All Boys!

This little guy is actually baby boy #3 for my beautiful friend Jessica and her husband Steve. Their first two sons were born in New Zealand where Steve is from, so I wasn’t able to take their brand-new pics. Needless to say, I was very excited to meet Elijah at only 2 days old! It’s easy to see why…
